Dr Christine Lee is an experienced acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner. She is registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia. She holds a double degree from RMIT University in Chinese Medicine and Human Biology, graduating in 2008. She also completed an internship at the Jiangsu Provincial TCM Hospital in Nanjing.
Christine has a special interest in women’s health, fertility and paediatrics. She has undergone further study in these areas and has extensive experience in treating the wide range of gynaecological conditions. She provides natural fertility options as well as assistance in IVF and other techniques. She has over ten years experience in supporting women through pregnancy, childbirth and early motherhood. She also adores providing quick and gentle options for natural health for children.
Christine also has sound experience in treating mental and emotional health issues. She has undergone further studies in auriculotherapy (ear acupuncture) which is a technique used by doctors, nurses and the military in treating anxiety, depression and PTSD and other trauma related conditions.
Christine also treats musculoskeletal conditions and provides help with pain management. She has special interest in combining techniques of distal acupuncture – using acupuncture away from the site of injury (eg. further away scalp, hands, feet). This can utilise the body’s messaging systems to calm inflammation, reduce pain and increase mobility. She combines these techniques with traditional acupuncture to achieve results that can be rapid and sustained.
Christine continues her studies in classical Chinese medicine. She studies the Shang Han Lun under the lineage of Prof Hu Xi Shu.
Christine also has an interest in community medicine. She was the co-founder and director of Melbourne’s first non-profit community acupuncture clinic. She ran council funded programs providing free acupuncture for asylum seekers and high-risk mental illness.
Christine has a young family and lives locally in Brunswick.
