About Dr. Ruby Hou

Dr Ruby Hou is a university-qualified Doctor of Chinese Medicine with over 15 years of clinical experience supporting women, couples and families through every stage of health — especially fertility, IVF and pregnancy care. And she truly loves what she does.

Her approach is thoughtful, thorough and grounded in both traditional Chinese medicine and modern medical understanding. Having completed her Bachelor and Master’s degrees at Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ruby received extensive training in integrated Chinese and Western medicine, including clinical placements at leading teaching hospitals in China. This dual training allows her to analyse complex cases with precision and provide care that is both holistic and evidence-informed.

Ruby is a Registered Chinese Medicine practitioner in Australia and a Registered Doctor of Chinese Medicine in China. She is also an accredited member of the Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Society of Australia (CMASA).

As a mother of two boys, Ruby understands deeply the physical and emotional journey of conception, pregnancy and motherhood. Her personal experience, combined with years of clinical practice, has shaped a strong passion for:

Ruby combines acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in a balanced and individualised way. As an academic successor of the Lingnan “acupuncture-herbal synergy” lineage, she believes in treating the root cause while gently supporting the body’s natural healing capacity.

Her patients appreciate her calm presence, careful listening and detailed analysis. She takes time to understand the full picture — physical, emotional and lifestyle factors — and develops treatment plans that are structured, safe and aligned with any concurrent medical care.
