ivf acupuncture melbourneWelcome to Almond Wellness Centre – the IVF acupuncture support clinics in Melbourne. We’re delighted to walk you through how acupuncture and Chinese medicine can support your IVF journey. Our holistic approach is designed to increase your chances of a successful pregnancy and help you welcome a healthy baby into your life. Let’s explore how our IVF acupuncture support you every step of the way.

When to Have IVF Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can be beneficial throughout your IVF journey. Whether you’re preparing for your first cycle or dealing with repeated embryo implantation failure, we are here to help. Our tailored protocols address challenges like maternal age, poor follicle response, and male factor infertility. Let us support you on your path to IVF success.

Preparing for Your Next IVF Cycle

Three Months of Preparation:

To give your body the best chance for success, we recommend a three-month preparation period before starting IVF stimulation. During this time, we’ll address any underlying issues with a combination of:

  • Acupuncture: Regular sessions to balance your energy.
  • Chinese Herbal Medicine: Increase/improve “Kidney Jing” (the fertility essence/energy). We use personalised treatments to support your fertility health.
  • Cupping and Massage Therapy: To improve circulation and reduce stress.
  • Moxibustion: A traditional technique for circulation, increasing blood flow to ovaries and uterus, and enhance your body’s energy.
  • Dietary Therapy and Vitamins: Customised advice to nourish your body.

Starting IVF Stimulation:

Once you begin drug stimulation, we’ll pause Chinese herbs to avoid interactions. However, we’ll continue acupuncture twice weekly until the transfer.

  • On the transfer day, we suggest acupuncture both before and after the procedure to support implantation.
  • After the transfer, we recommend continuing acupuncture twice weekly to further enhance your chances of success.

Addressing Specific Challenges with IVF Acupuncture

Repeated Embryo Implantation Failure:

For those facing repeated implantation failures, our approach includes a three-month preparation phase similar to our general IVF prep. Alternatively, during a natural cycle FET, we suggest acupuncture twice weekly before the transfer and on transfer day. This can help with repeated IVF transfers, recurrent miscarriages, or advanced age-related risks.

Poor Responders to FSH Stimulation:

For clients with poor response to FSH stimulation, we recommend a three-month preparation period. This includes regular acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, vitamins, and dietary changes. These treatments can help improve your response and increase the number of follicles collected.

Poor Quality Eggs:

If you produce enough eggs but they don’t mature well or embryos don’t survive, you might be dealing with poor quality eggs. Our 3-month preparation program aims to balance your hormones, improve sleep, and boost overall energy, including ovarian health, which may improve egg quality. We utilise regular acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, vitamins, and dietary changes to support better follicle and development.

Male Factor Infertility:

Sperm quality and quantity are crucial, even with ICSI. We suggest a minimum of three months of weekly acupuncture, combined with vitamins and Chinese herbal treatment, to improve sperm health.
