Dr. Chen Yong graduated from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in 1992, where he majored in acupuncture. Dr. Chen’s career began at the 12th People’s Hospital of Guangzhou, where he practiced TCM from 1992 to 2000, refining his skills in treating a wide range of medical conditions.
From 2000 to 2009, Dr. Chen worked at the Outpatient Department of the New Drug Research Center at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. His role involved not only clinical practice but also the integration of TCM with new herbal medicine research. He continued to build his experience at Southern City People’s Hospital in Dongguan from 2009 to 2012, focusing on the application of TCM in various medical treatments.
Dr. Chen then expanded his career into the pharmaceutical industry, working with Sichuan Huaxi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. from 2012 to 2016 and later with Guangdong Hengxing Medical Technology Co., Ltd. until 2022. These roles allowed him to combine his clinical expertise with modern medical technologies.
In 2023, Dr. Chen returned to Southern City People’s Hospital in Dongguan, resuming his focus on TCM. Now, he practices at Almond Wellness Centre’s Coburg and Ringwood clinics in Melbourne.
Dr. Chen is specially interested in pain management, including neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain, sciatica, headaches, and sports injuries such as tennis elbow, rotator cuff injuries, lumbar sprains, and hip, knee, and ankle sprains. In addition to his expertise in dry needling and Tuina massage, he is also skilled in using moxibustion and acupuncture to address common internal medicine and gynecological issues, providing holistic care tailored to each patient’s needs.
