Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a system of diagnosis and healthcare approaches, which originated in China over 5000 years ago. This science and art of healing has become widely accepted over the past three decades. It has now been established as a profession in Australia and has proved to be safe and effective.

TCM views the body as a whole and treats conditions holistically, alleviating not only the symptoms but the root problem as well. During the first visit, the practitioner is concerned with all aspects of the patient's health. Details of medical, surgical and family history and other relevant information such as exercise habits and occupation are collected. A general physical examination is conducted and the tongue and pulse are studied.

Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, acupressure, Tui na (Chinese therapeutic massage), moxibustion, auricular acupuncture (ear acupuncture), cupping therapy, Gua sha (Spooning therapy) and other therapies are the main methods used by the practitioners in the clinic.
